Oren Stambouli, a filmmaker and documentarian, joined us to share his experiences and approaches in choosing locations and subjects for his films, and shared challenges from filming “Uncharted Adventure” and “Imperfect.” He also talked about the differences between documentaries, movies, and TV shows, and the process of working with a crew and subjects to keep working in the same direction. He discussed the research and preparation that goes into making a film, the editing process, and incorporating the perspectives of experts and local communities. He also shared some of the challenges and obstacles he has faced as a director and gave advice to aspiring filmmakers and documentarians. He also discussed the business side of film making such as the difficulties in shopping for a film. There was a lot more discussion as well. You won’t want to miss out on this episode of the Learning with Lowell show.
Also, the pictures in the beginning were taken from Oren’s instagram page. I highly recommend checking them out. They are what made me finally start an insta account.
Check out his instagram page as well as his new short coming out on Amazon prime.
