Yield Lab (source from website)
The Yield Lab formed in 2014 to address a lack of capital and support for early stage agriculture technology companies. Agriculture innovation is essential in feeding a rising global population and accompanying demand. Our founder, Thad Simons, brought together a group of former agribusiness executives to build a team that would provide capital and coaching to accelerate sustainable agtech companies.
Nineteen portfolio companies, four cohorts, and three international accelerators later, we continue to grow and evolve to meet the need for agricultural innovation in order to sustainably feed the world.
We currently do this through our…
1. Accelerators – Each accelerator invests $100,000 in early stage agtech companies, provides network focused programming with a focus on customers, collaborators, and capital, and provides mentorship from our team of agribusiness experts.
2. The Yield Lab Institute – The Institute strives to improve connectivity between agri-preneurs and relevant stakeholders. More information is available at theyieldlabinstitute.org
